Very well-designed, entertaining toy with a key flaw - the tree itself is not stable. As others have said, the narrow base makes it near impossible to balance the animals without the tree falling over. I added a slightly wider base (screwed on - see picture) and now my 2 year old loves it and no longer gets frustrated by it constantly falling.
So pretty, and fun to stack and balance. It's challenging for a 24 month old, but he loves playing with the pieces and watching me stack them. He'll grow into it!

Darling toy but the base is not sturdy and the tree is easily tipped over by little hands (and big ones!)

It's exactly as pictured. I'm 52 and even I like rearranging it when I get the chance! Every piece is so cute.The only thing I would change it that it has a tendency to fall over easily, so if you arent playing a balance game and don't want your pretty woodland tableau to fall over, you are going to have to brace it somehow.
I saw this in another catalog before Christmas, fell in love with it. Arrived yesterday, it is so cute. Granddaughter (6) loves it. Great for imaginative play!
