This train set is completely adorable! I especially love the bears, lake and trees and the soft colors. The smaller log pieces will have to be set aside for later if you have young toddlers, but older kids will love the added fun of arranging the various sized pieces on the cars and delivering wood to the cabin. It does take practice to figure out how to arrange the logs to prevent them falling out when going uphill, and I wish all of the cars had been designed to prevent this issue. The largest, two-piece logs work perfectly in the gray flatbed train car if you stagger the 2 log pieces slightly. On the truck flatbeds, it’s possible to wedge either 2 or 4 long, thin logs in snugly enough to manage hills, but a child may have trouble doing so (The long, thin logs are actually 2 different sizes). Be advised that the crane doesn’t adjust enough to properly lift the logs to and from the cars, and the magnets on the crane are always sticking together (I chose to purchase another crane to use with the set instead). But it’s still a 5 star set for me - it’s both beautiful and fun!
This train set is wonderfully made and painted! The 3.5 year old I'm my life thinks it's the best thing ever. He changes up the track layout and all the pieces, really using his imagination as he plays. I will be adding all the accessories that complement the set. I'm thankful to have found such beautiful and well-made wood toys. They are truly heirloom quality.

I was tempted to purchase a Melissa and Doug set during Black Friday, but went with this one despite it being slightly more costly. Definitely worth it. It’s of great quality and it’s beautiful. Very happy with this purchase.
But it’s a winner toy, as my grandson loves the train set!!
This has been a wonderful addition to my nephew's toy collection. He loves playing with this train set all the time now. He even sleeps with the trains sometimes. It is very easy to set up and have multiple configurations. The tracks and trains are all built of wood which is nice touch.
Great value, high quality product
Really cute train set! Lots of small pieces and pieces with tiny magnets. Not for younger kiddos. Additionally, my son threw a piece of the elevated track a few minutes after opening it and the piece snapped in half. We ended up packing this set up and putting it away until he is older. I don’t want anymore broken pieces, especially considering the price.
This train set is beautiful! My kiddos love it. The only critique I have is that there is little wood pile that goes with the cabin and it has maybe twenty or so little wooden chopped logs....these are quite small and I don't recommend it for children under the age of four. We gathered them all up and put them in a plastic bag and set them aside until all the kiddos in the house are no longer picking up random objects and putting them in their mouths. But everything else is 100% small child friendly. Now all we need is a beautiful matching train table!
